I don't like the review. Too clean and sterile for a film that, behind its glamorous facade, hides a really intelligent vein. A magnificent reflection on the very meaning of spectacle and what a man can do to obtain or maintain it. The ending is therefore very wicked and devoid of any scruples. Moreover, a round of applause goes to Hugh Hackman, who, finally out of the superhero costumes, proves to be a good actor.

really beautiful film, featuring two of my favorite actors (Spacey and Pearce), while the third lead unfortunately is someone I can't stand. in my opinion, this adaptation is perfect for an Ellroy noir, unlike the last disappointing Black Dahlia directed by De Palma. but I still haven't read the book...
