I saw it at the cinema and clearly it's not on the level of The Thin Red Line, but at times it fascinated me quite a lot. Colin Farrell is truly pathetic. A bit boring and too much of the all-good, new-age nonsense from the protagonist. It's clear that behind it all, there's the touch of a wonderful artist like Malick. Maybe I'll download it and watch it again...

Well, what the hell does it mean if a film is an auteur's film? It’s just a label that means nothing and often marks boring films. I'm the first to appreciate certain films, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy more easily digestible ones (assuming this film is even easy to consume). De Palma? He hasn’t made a decent film in a long time, and just imitating the master Alfred doesn’t make a good thriller. I mean, De Palma is someone who has even managed to ruin the masterpiece novel by Ellroy, and that says it all. Easy violence? Well, do you even know what the hell Francoism was in Spain? No, because if we think like that we could accuse The Masseria Delle Allodole by the Taviani brothers or Schindler's List of being violent too. Look, it’s better we end the discussion here because I'm afraid you might make it worse.
