I don’t know… Jammin really gets on my nerves… anyway, poor Pearl Jam, always having to deal with this stuff… and then: nature’s little jokes only go so far, it would have been enough to secure the pillars better. I really hope everyone files a big lawsuit against the organization to completely drain them dry. I didn’t know Mastodon were there, I would really like to see them… one last note: couldn’t the damage have happened on Vasco's day? It would have been so much more satisfying… eh eh.

Things Fall Apart is a must-have. As for the pieces, it depends on tastes, dear Giorgio... I guess we all have our favorite one ;-)

One shouldn't expect a copy of What's Goin' On... but rather a soul album of the same caliber, albeit with different coordinates; had it been released thirty years ago, everyone would have hailed it as a masterpiece. However, in '97 the market dynamics were different from those of the seventies, and listeners approached music differently as well. Marvin Gaye's album, after all, was from an artist with an already significant reputation, and Motown was also skilled at marketing its records. There’s also a difference in sound: Marvin’s is heavily produced and, in a sense, orchestral, while Badu's pretends to have a sparse, very alternative-underground production (even though it was released by Universal). I made the comparison because I assumed that everyone was familiar with Gaye's record and regarded it as a fundamental album.

I haven't seen the movie... but the book is one of the most beautiful-disturbing things I've ever read. My vote goes to the book and to Ballard!!

Pezzali is already likable. Like a piece of poop raining down from the sky onto your plate of carbonara.

A rather bland review for an album that should be credited more to Rubin than to the Peppers. 3.5, but I'll round it up to 4 out of affection.

Beautiful for you and also the good Farrell! But is The Song Yet To Be Sung nice?
