Last night I watched the 1958 Dracula. Then I saw the two Nosferatu not too long ago. I’ve never seen this one in full, but I really enjoyed the parts of it (more than half in English and a little bit in Italian) that I caught.

I was thinking about 99 Posse. Okay, now I get it. But I still prefer Quasi Adatti; it's more subtle and unsettling. It has something sick and truly alien about it... Mai Come Voi is too easy to grasp, whereas Quasi Adatti is not for everyone (rightly so).

and maybe someone even remembers the excellent video from Ogni Adolescenza, which mentioned the car races from the Hanna&Barbera cartoon (sorry, but I can’t recall the title). anyway, my favorite song is Quasi Adatti, a true anthem of non-belonging.

a very powerful album, much more so than Mostri E Normali. The lyrics are sarcastic and sharp, always very intelligent (and it deserves a separate mention the one for Piccolo Cinema Onirico which gently honors surrealism, and also evokes a certain Federico Fellini). Then there’s the beautiful concluding track Beato (even if that "beat" might be more in the Kerouac sense than anything else) with its extremely long garage outro. A review that's just sufficient.

just a beautiful rediscovery dear Sylvian... but I’ve searched for this record for a long time and it has always eluded me. by the way, I would mention the fact that the Stones wanted him as a guitarist, but he refused. and recently the good Shuggie played on Mos Def's penultimate album, The New Danger. as for the rest, Sylvian, you are absolutely right, interesting reviews like this barely get four comments while everyone is eager to rush into the reviews of those three usual suspects (Iron Maiden, Queen, Pink Floyd). and for the rest, it happens to everyone to be influenced by some critic or review read throughout their life. after all, it’s common not only on deBaser but for writers of all kinds. I just still don’t understand the anger that some people feel towards music journalists/critics when they come here to spit out judgments.
