I've zipped it up on the hard drive; I need to decide to listen to it.

I've always read very intriguing things about these guys and I've never found their album (looking for it, among other places, in Bologna). Now you twist the knife in the wound, so I'm going to take a look at their website and see if I can get my hands on a prepaid card.

Aside from the references to Apaloosa that I haven't seen, I agree with every word of Supersoul's first comment.

Ah, Bartle, I completely agree with what you wrote, but I really recommend that you check out the early issues of Carey’s Lucifer (the same Lucifer who leaves the keys of Hell to Morpheus). In one of these, Lucifer visits the Shintoist pantheon, a pantheon in obvious decline that has devised a particular method to avoid complete decay: it collects, in its own places, fetishes and symbols from other religions (not just that, but also pop symbols) in such a way that the prayers directed to these objects flow back into the Shintoist pantheon, allowing it to stay alive. Well, in my opinion (I hope I’ve been clear), this is the best explanation of the theme of decay and coexistence of true pantheons that Gaiman intended, but it was developed by another author.

I'm biased: no one like Calvino.

After all, as far as I remember, this book is nothing but the prose rendition of the entire idea behind Sandman. Even though the whole discourse on the maintenance of pantheons and their decline is better articulated in the comic universe by Carey with his Lucifer than by Gaiman with that masterpiece of Sandman (which in turn addresses so many things with such grace that it leaves anyone else in the shade).

It's not clear what those three stars have to do with the review, which is well written nonetheless (then Vortex points out correct and interesting notes, especially regarding the availability of the record). Anyway: I want it.
