Syd Barrett The Madcap Laughs
Voto:
What a drag, always making comparisons: Lennon is Lennon and Barrett is Barrett, that’s all there is to it.
Another bullshit thing: Play a Beatles song with today's arrangements and you'll see how current it sounds, no doubt about it, they created timeless melodies.
Final note: If Barrett had kept his neurons intact, it means he would never have been Barrett.

Why did the latest Talk Talk resemble Slint??? Come on....

Sure, but Bark Psychosis have nothing to do with Slint, not even remotely. Both Slint and Bark are great, but I don’t understand why you associate them... What I prefer about Slint is their restrained power, which I've partially (only partially) seen in bands like Codeine, Tortoise, Low, and the more current Calla.

AJEJEBRAZORF I completely agree, starting from your name and ending with what you've written about the CCCP. Everything is to be read carefully, even though I assume that for some it may not be necessary. Regarding the comparisons between Nazism and Communism, just two points: Nazism also originated from noble ideals if we think that its founders were active in the German National Socialist Party, and only later did they drastically change course. As for Communism, I don't see any utopia if we consider Communism as a social and economic organizational model, unless hoping for a society where fundamental rights are guaranteed to everyone has now become a utopia (which would be quite sad). Often, Communism is confused with that state capitalism which was primarily propagated by the USSR, forgetting that to this day, when we talk about Communism, we are talking about "communist experiences," all different from one another, and each requires its own discussion. That said, to say that Ferretti is biased is ridiculous, as evidenced by his positions (which I find quite foolish) regarding the latest referendum.
X CEP: A very astute and significant observation which I fully agree with ;-)

...another remarkable thing about this film is the supporting actors (supporting in a manner of speaking): in addition to those already mentioned, there’s Isabella Rossellini with a white wig who is nothing short of fabulous.... and here Cage reaches (in my opinion) his peak, with that snake-skin jacket which represents the symbol of his individuality and personal freedom.....

This film has definitely made history in cinema, my cinema that is. Considering that it’s a film from 15 years ago, it’s clear that watching it today has a different effect, especially after having seen Lynch’s subsequent works. But if we try to think about what we were watching at that time, things like “Thelma and Louise” or “The Silence of the Lambs,” it becomes clear that this film was ahead of its time, and not by a small margin. The chosen music is beautiful, fitting perfectly with the proposed settings, and here Lynch never misses a beat, given that music is essential for what he does.
For me, it’s a wonderful film that I can no longer find around... and Laura Dern is stunningly captivating...
Blue Velvet, on the other hand, is one of those things by him that I have never appreciated, just like that other one about the guy who traveled across America with a lawnmower, a huge disappointment...

Actually, I wanted to review something, but when I read yours, I was traumatized. Not only did I give up, but now I even struggle to talk because I'm always afraid of running into you. Maybe you’ll start explaining your "Calderoli style" talks to me, and that would truly be a dramatic experience... I've had enough now, I'm switching you off, leaving you with your insults and your beliefs that will follow you forever in your sad existence.
Yours, Strangler
