In my opinion... a step forward from the exaggerated experimentalism of Catch 33... not as "cool" as Destroy, not as massive as Chaosphere, and not as twisted as Nothing, but a standardized album is quite evident... However, the record is well played with passages that captivate and bewilder you, and then the initial riff of Bleed is worse than an earthquake... talking about technique for its own sake in Meshuggah is completely out of place: try putting Frederik Thordendal to play alongside guitar wankers like Petrucci, Vai, and Satriani, what the hell does that have to do with it... it’s the very anti-showboating... good review with which I partially agree, but that 3/5 you have to tell me if it's a 5.5, a 6, or a 7........

If by consistency you mean serving up the same things for 30 years...really nice to be consistent...

Ale, you’re an idiot... I honestly don’t like rap... but you’re still an idiot...

Static in the vocal sense that doesn't move in other directions... Wages Of Sin is very beautiful... Live Angela is great as a front-woman... 97% is a metaphorical number to indicate how saturated today's market is... then there are repetitive things that can also be wonderful... like the latest album by Symphony X, which Ema doesn't like...

Indeed, this is the beauty of it!!! Meshuggah play post-Thrash Progressive-Thrash or whatever the hell you want to call it... if a track like Combustion from the latest album isn’t thrash...

If I had to identify bands by genre today, I would say:
Thrash Metal = Meshuggah
Progressive Metal = Pain Of Salvation, Opeth, OSI
Death Metal = Necrophagist, Akercocke, Behemoth
Black Metal = Deathspell Omega
Heavy Metal = dead
Power Metal = Symphony X
In my opinion, only Heavy has run out of possibilities...

Well, Alexi Lahio is a character, but honestly, he fits well in Bodom as a singer, but he's a bit of a hack... the guy from Quo Vadis is incredible, Akerfeldt, Stanne... but compared to singers who sing clean, there's a spectrum of potential variation that is moooooooolto lower... so Johann Axelsson wasn't the old guitarist, well well, how many things you discover... I still think that 97% of bands are repetitive... that's why I love Pain Of Salvation... let's move on to the review of Miaden because I want to argue with the Maiden fans ;)

Surely Metal as understood by the True Defenders Of Steel Of The Power Of The Sword Of The King In The Night Under The Sky With The Thunder And The Storm is dead...

If this is the best of the decade… then music is now dead…
