I completely agree with the review: an album from 2004 and... probably the last five years too! The fact that New Wave and post-punk are extremely relevant is beyond question. Many recent bands and albums (in addition to countless danceable remixes) confirm this. And for a die-hard and nostalgic lover of the genre like myself, it can only be a pleasure.
The problem, however, arises when one limits oneself to copying without adding something of their own. This is the case with celebrated bands like Interpol and Franz Ferdinand. The former seem to be a clone of Joy Division (in sound and even in voice), while the latter are like Talking Heads (in sound and even in voice). Conversely, The Killers, while borrowing something from the glorious '80s, remain original and impactful. Very, very enjoyable.
I want to add to the review what I believe is the masterpiece of the album, namely the third track “Someone Like You Mean It.” I highly recommend buying this album because, unlike others, you will still be listening to it in the coming years... it has the qualities for that. It’s not perfection, but if it were, we would be facing a seminal record. Otherwise, you can just buy “Remain in Light” or “Unknown Pleasures”... that’s quicker...

Absolutely agree with the review. Another immense work by Hugh and company. Probably the most "cult" and difficult to understand if you know/listen to the others. Rattus Norvegicus and La Folie at the forefront. It's a shame, as mentioned, that they won't reach these levels again. Their limit has probably always been that they are "too old for punk and too angry to not belong to it." But that's what makes them original too. Great review and an illuminating band...9+

Another masterpiece of MUSIC. Grandiose Imitation of Christ and Sister Europe. Fantastic We Love You... but the whole album is, in my opinion, a milestone of contemporary rock. Richard probably has the most sensual and warm voice of the New Wave. Just to be clear, I would listen to him (already done) and recommend him during intimate moments with the girl... :) you decide... The next album (Talk Talk Talk) is another hand grenade... immense Mr Jones and No Tears. I wonder: how do the new generations manage to listen to those "munnezze" (garbage bags, ed.) that are played today? GREAT... not to be missed.

I cry every time I pass by the mythical and glorious Tursport in Taranto, where everyone has played, except for the Cure. The Sound (monumental), Siouxsie & The Banshees, New Order, Ultravox... and of course, them. What people say today about the 80s doesn’t even cross my mind. The New Wave was, is, and will be THE MUSIC, at least for a fucking nostalgic like me. On the 31st: a wave New Year's Eve until death... from Simple Minds I would like to dance to The American, certainly Skeletons by The Sound. Best wishes to everyone and greetings to the local guy (?) who has already written. Enry New Waver... NEW WAVE IS LIFE!!!!!!!!
