There were definitely issues, but you have too romantic a view of the music world.

No, I haven't tried because my Human is temporarily loaned out. Anyway, it's true, the way he equalizes the rick (already beautifully chunky and with a lot of highs) creates a really particular sound. I don't know if you've heard "Elements Of Anger" by Sadus.

Noo is awesome the voice, I knew it, it annoys a lot of metalheads, but I liked it!

Boh de gustibus, yes, in fact in the photo of Human he looks like a woman, but those photos are weird; Masvidal looks like a gay guy à la Hammett and DiGiorgio looks three times uglier than he is (bleah). Thanks for the tip about lowering the bass, maybe this is the time I manage to pull something down without having to blindly trust the guitar tracks by removing the fifths from the power chords. Look, I think all the best are in Human; Masvidal is definitely better than Laroque (I hope that’s what you meant). Steve is Steve, and I actually prefer Reinert over Hoglan, so it’s my paradise (even though my favorite is ITP).

(And with this, I don’t mean that he’s the best jazz musician who also does metal, but among the musicians who play metal, he is the best, even if he’s a jazz musician and really not much of a metaller.)

Exactly, that's me. For my first five concerts, I always wore Testament underneath and Death on top. Then I remembered that I'm not superstitious. Anyway, the chainsaw part was a joke... Regarding Reinert, I prefer him to Hoglan, not because he's technically better (I think they're simply "different") but because I personally appreciate Reinert's style more (more jazzy than Hoglan). As for "Human," I don't mind the persistence of the double bass; I see it as an album that is fast and consistent, which probably depends more on the compositions than on the drum arrangement. In that album, I really like how Reinert uses the cymbals and the snare while kicking the kicks like an idiot, because he places them in the most bastardly fits, making it a bit of a mess. Anyway, if you want to hear the best of Sean: Cynic, Aghora, and Gordian Knot. By the way, in all these bands, there's also Sean Malone on bass (with a capital B), one of the best "children of Pastorius" (in terms of style) and definitely the best bassist, if not musician, (Gordian are his) in jazz who "lowers himself" to do metal.

Cliff, it's your problem if so many people are telling you this, there must be a reason. Yes, they are technicians, but my friend Midi is much more than that, and so what? What I'm trying to say is that the undeniable thing is that they have technique; the debatable thing is whether you like their music, and you are making it an undeniable fact, you stubborn fixated person.

jigoro do you want me to find your address and start looking for you with a chainsaw, what the hell is the reason for you to insult like that for free? anyway, the website needs updating, the training has changed.

"Yes, indeed. It really doesn't seem appropriate to mention the name of Chuck and co. It's all the context that becomes pointless in front of the Death. But what are you drinking? It's not a blasphemy, especially in a musical discussion context; even less so. Start taking the icons of the frontmen out of your wallets and try instead to listen to their music."
