yeah yeah... even though I prefer dead heart in a dead world... still, a unique album for its dark, melancholic atmospheres and so on... really beautiful

As I have reiterated time and time again, Opeth haven't invented anything; they simply formalized (as Cliff says for Deep) a genre that was already sketched out by many other bands. Great polishers, yes, but not inventors. Still, good review.
Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

truly amazing.....I discovered them in one of the groups I play in, having been forced to learn their songs, and I must say that even to the eyes of a critical and skeptical metalhead, the Smashing are really, really good.....then a song like zero......beautiful
Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream

a great album.......especially (in my opinion) for Corgan's voice...wonderful....without his voice, the Smashing Pumpkins would be nobody....

Like women. The best are those you've always had in front of you, those you've never really noticed, and then suddenly they capture you and never let you go, never again.....................stunned.. .....

...What the hell!! Do you say what you say because you really believe it and feel it, or just because someone famous said it, or because you idolize them just because they have a technique that far surpasses yours (without any reference to a certain Cliff Burton)? I really don’t give a damn about what that Steve Vai said about some guitar hero, THE FACT IS THAT THE RIFFS, technically speaking (yours was a purely technical judgment), OF RATM ARE -=(TECHNICALLY ELEMENTARY - in timing and melody, in composition and execution)=- -=(NOT VERY ORIGINAL - worn out even within the same RATM songs)=- -=(REPETITIVE - 1 riff per song if not 1 riff and a half per album)=- CLEAR? And with this, I’m not saying that RATM is crap; I actually enjoy listening to an RATM song every now and then even if I don’t really like them. I’m just saying that you and your buddy Steve Vai are dead wrong in thinking RATM is good from a compositional standpoint because you’re just PISSING OUTSIDE.
