I'll just tell you this and that’s it: the world is not that kind of pantomime that you, for reasons that would warrant investigation, imagine. The Neapolitan, the Southerner, the communist, the homosexual, the immigrant, the different—none of these categories of cheap sociology exist. They live only as ghosts in your little head, perhaps shaved. Only individuals exist, whom your phobias and obsessions will never allow you to truly know. Humanity is much more complicated and interesting than you can imagine. I know, it takes true courage, not the kind of bravado seen in sixteenth notes, to open up to people, to engage in dialogue, to relate to them even in a dialectical way. But it seems to me that, despite your bluster, you are a coward. Trilussa, the singer and connoisseur of the variety and richness of the Roman people, would mock you too.

You're a riot!! If you really are like that and not, as I hope for you, someone who enjoys playing the "law & order hick" character trying to act tough, you could find a spot on some reality show: you'd make quite an impression. Think about it.

"Alla Fiera dell'est" and "La Pulce d'acqua" are the only two albums I know and which I enthusiastically bought on cassette back then (!). I liked them a lot at the time, but having listened to them again now, they do show a bit of their age. I don't know if this also applies to this album.

Your intellectual and dialectical shallowness (how old are you? I hope you’re not a teenager...) is truly disheartening. You’re a "humorous" character, in the manner of Pirandello, whom you would do well to read instead of misquoting. There’s a Neapolitan proverb (horror!) that goes: "A lavà a cap 'o ciuccio, si perd' l'acqua e o'ssapone". Nevertheless, you can manage to understand its meaning. I hope no one else makes my mistake.

I also think this is the best of DMB, even though their true expression is in the live performances.
