Stevie Wonder Songs In The Key Of Life
Voto:
I thank everyone for the interesting comments and Ringo in particular for the nice acknowledgment of esteem, a sentiment surely mutual. As for the comparison between Wonder and Davis, my friend's final summary captured what I wanted to express. Let's say it's a sort of proportion: Wonder's album: to black = B.B. to Davis: to jazz, regarding courage, innovation, and artistic talent. I also use the term "Black" in the more restricted and widely used sense that includes soul, R&B, and rap along with all their derivations and hybrids. I have strong reservations about the current "black" scene myself, particularly regarding rap, but I don't believe the situation is as "black" as Ringo portrayed it. :-)
Brodsky Quartet Moodswings

I confess that I discovered the Quartet because I’ve been a longtime fan of Costello (I have a review of him in the works!), but in "The Juliet Letters" I was thrilled. I will try to find this album.

I take the liberty of extending the apotropaic formula of my friend Pacino, evidently also endowed with unsuspected paranormal powers, to all the commentators of the reviews on Joe (but only if they don't go below 4, though). :-)

Well, even though my reviews are among the least commented on (rightly so?), there are still a few curious and loyal readers: let's not complain. :-) Best wishes, Big Key. :-)

Your scent is unmistakable, dear Gabri. I was certain of your presence. ;-)
P.S. How are things in the Canton? Has the storm passed?
Tears For Fears The Hurting
Voto:
I confess my weakness for Tears For Fears, which has, in fact, not faded with the 80s. If I can find time (from now on it will always be less...) and inspiration, I sign up for a review of them, ege permitting.

A five that counts for this and for many of your other choices.

Very funny review. However, I don't agree with you on reggae; nor would I underestimate the importance and ancestral connection we have with percussive, repetitive, crescendo sounds that, whether we like it or not, are part of our DNA as "naked apes": even the hypothalamus wants its share. :-)

Adulators...you deserve a mention. Epilogue "A man sets himself the task of drawing the world. Over the years, he populates a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fish, homes, tools, stars, horses, and people. Just before he dies, he discovers that this patient labyrinth of lines outlines the image of his face."

It's really rewarding to read comments of this level under my review, which then call into question one of my favorite authors.
