Edoardo Bennato E' arrivato un bastimento

Aeneas, I completely agree with you and I reveal that I also thought of "Sono solo canzonette" for a review. In hindsight, it can certainly be said that Bennato's criticisms hit the mark and were, in many ways, forward-looking.

"..and i'll sail her up the west coast/through villages and towns/i'll be on my holidays/they'll be doing their rounds/they'll ask me how i got her i'll say i saved my money/they'll say isn't she pretty that ship called dignity..." In my review of Danny Wilson, I had already mentioned Ricky Ross, placing him among the best pop writers born beyond Hadrian's Wall. Great review and an album worth rediscovering. P.S. "Deacon Blue" is a track from "Aja" by Steely Dan: the circle is complete. :-)

I remember the video very well, truly innovative for that heroic era, but unfortunately the video recorder was a luxury for the few. Massarini, one of the rare individuals who could speak knowledgeably about music at RAI, has been, as is logical, purged a long time ago. A.R, don’t forget the Culture Club and the resurrected Kate Bush... :-)

Even my most ardent detractors will have to admit that this review has unleashed some unsuspected "animal spirits." At this point, the "crevice" that the good Ryuchi speaks of takes on a subtly metaphorical significance. :-))

Giddy Goose, if you can appreciate the cultured writings of Hal on classical music, with the company you keep, you might just be my ideal woman. :-))

Glitch, rightly accused of being overly verbose at times, this time I have self-censored, avoiding didactic excesses. Comments also serve to fill in the inevitable gaps. By the way, the collaboration Morelenbaum2 - Sakamoto has resulted in what I consider one of the best albums of recent years. AXL talks excellently about "Snowe Borne Sorrow" elsewhere.

Aeneas is a well-known entomologist turned music critic: you can tell even by the "microscope" he uses to analyze albums. :-) Errata Corrige: "Enea and I hoped..."

Kosmo, the prosaic comment is allowed, but given the trend, Enea and I were hoping for something more by clicking on your nick... :-)))

I had noticed a resemblance, in truth. Praise be to the mother, at this point. ;-)) Sakamoto, being a worldly man, will forgive us for these digressions. :-)
