Pink Floyd The Wall

After this long discussion, I don't understand why it has to be said that The Wall is a masterpiece. Okay, I accept that calling it crap is too much. But you have to accept the opinion of those who believe that it is not a masterpiece. Above all: it is not an album of great songs (except for a few exceptions). Furthermore, as a concept, it is not held together by the music but by the narrative thread. This is where the misunderstanding of the jumble arises, I think. For example, I like a certain compositional unity that is not present in this album. This is where the divergence between the two sides is created: since it is neither an album of great songs nor a musically harmonious concept, those who appreciate it do so for different reasons: the lyrical concept, the lyrics, the contexts, etc. Those who instead want great songs do not find them here and do not appreciate it.

big bogus. one of the most overrated albums. unfortunately, there's a prohibition against talking badly about certain universally acclaimed albums. as if one had to agree by force and it was forbidden to write a negative review. you put your arguments forward. it is others who should support why this hyperbaroque album is a masterpiece. it has a couple of decent songs lost in a sea of music that's perhaps not even very bad. simply mediocre.

good review. but I'm not convinced by what you say at the beginning. are you sure? I had read that the title was actually ironic. anyway, one of the best from Depeche. someone will also have to rediscover Black Celebration, a remarkable album that’s a bit forgotten.

I really believe that even today English critics see it as a missed masterpiece. Missed due to its excessive length. It could have been a great double album or a single masterpiece. Therefore, you have to seek out the many gems (which are there, and there are many, some of which you mentioned, I add "somebody got murdered" to the list) and it’s a very scattered listen. That said, I like the review and the album is still remarkable.
Blur Modern Life Is Rubbish

one of the reviews furthest from reality. an excellent album. here the blur have great drive, in its own way the album is a triumph of skewed melodies (where skewed is obviously a compliment)

I saw them by chance at the Independent Festival in Bologna and found them embarrassing.

great review. and good choice. I haven't listened to the album but I know that Stereolab are a fantastic band. for me, they are among the giants in the history of rock. period.

really mediocre record. not up to the glorious career of the depeche.
Hood Outside Closer

Hi Giubbo. I have "Cold House." It's the album that precedes this one. It's from 2001. This one is brand new. Just released now. Cold House is another remarkable album. There's more electronics in that one compared to Outside Closer. Anyway, you're right, they're very complex albums. And very beautiful. Unfortunately, Hood isn't very well known. For me, this album is a serious contender for best album of 2005. It's still early, the year is long, but they've made a serious claim.

Well, it seems to me like the usual overhyped group. I've only heard one track, "Maximilian Robespierre," and I’m sorry, but listening to a guy speaking with a strong Reggio accent doesn’t make me eager to hear the other songs where this guy will always be talking with that same strong Reggio accent. The classic local product. Five stars, even?
