Go from Minutemen, Pussy Galore, Husker Du, Big Black, Rapeman, Shellac, Grateful Dead, Red Crayola, Ash Ra Tempel, Tangerine Dream, "Discipline" by Crimson, then from there you connect with post-rock and you find Slint, Codeine, Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky, Tortoise, Dirty Three and the list goes on.
