I agree, Caz. Some things from Spooky are a bit heavy-handed; even "Optometry," while being a fascinating album, can become a bit tiresome over time :D "Balance" by Akro is also very nice, a cool album just like the man. Figheria above everyone! :-))

All three of them do Rap. The Dalek are under Ipecac (Mike Patton's label), the Perceptionists are a combo made up of two great MCs from Boston, Akrobatik and Mr. Lif, and they are part of El-P's Def Jux roster, Danger Doom is the project of Danger Mouse paired with MF Doom, the album is terrifying :-)

I managed to see some clips of Zurk! and it looks remarkable, not just for the babes and various nudity. The '70s all the way :-))
Tricky Maxinquaye

Yes Nobody, the comparison with "Blue Lines" is probably more fitting; "Protection," while being a great album, has never excited me to the point of calling it a masterpiece. A completely different story for "Mezzanine," which is one of the highest peaks of the Bristol Sound and, perhaps, of the '90s.

I might be a heretic, but I prefer "Mezzanine" a thousand times over "Protection." Moral of the story: there's no comparison to "Maxinquaye" ;-)

"Hell Is Round The Corner" is one of my favorite tracks of all time, a massive record and the one true masterpiece of Tricky. I also really like "Juxtapose" with DJ Muggs and Grease, probably the only noteworthy album after Maxinquaye, while the latest pseudo-Rock ventures say very little to me. In any case, a great artist and character ;-) Saludos
