Sun Ra & His Solar-Myth Arkestra The Solar-Myth Approach (Vol. 2)
Voto:
Ajeje, I actually like "Atlantis" less precisely because it pushes too hard on Free Jazz. Don't get me wrong, it's a great album, but I definitely prefer the electronic experiments in the two volumes of "The Solar Myth Approach," "Astro Black," and "Space Is The Place" ;-) As for the dispute with the Residents, regarding my preferences, I’m not sure what to say: it could be that in the King’s works I sense that Black touch that seems to be missing in the early Residents, or it could be that as a sampling enthusiast I enjoy uncovering the samples that he kindly borrowed, but I definitely prefer him. However, I love the Residents' "Eskimo" :-))

I tell you Soc, I got to know him through the quotes and samples of illustrious artists from the Rap and Electronic world like Madlib and DJ Spooky, and although I initially felt skeptical, I quickly became passionate about the artist, his personality, and his music. The same goes for other artists like Archie Shepp and Pharoah Sanders, who, between the late '60s and early '70s, heavily blended their Free Jazz with the Funk grooves that were popular at the time. I repeat, I'm not a huge lover of Psychedelia and daring, obscure experiments, but in the case of King Sun Ra, one can definitely make an exception :-)
Herbie Hancock Maiden Voyage
Voto:
Certainly an important work in the Hancockian career, although personally I prefer the productions from the Funk period, starting from "Fat Albert Rotunda" onwards. Great Grass, in any case ;-)

Congratulations Jim, I almost want to dash to Puglia just to steal your record! :-)) Jokes aside, I truly believe you won’t be disappointed at all: It’s an album that deliberately emphasizes the Free component, putting aside the jazz whirlwind of his previous productions. A sort of preview of what will be his definitive masterpiece, "Space Is The Place" ;-)

An intense and captivating album, on par with the debut "Bottle Of Humans". You could have said a few more words, kill ;-)

Hehehe, thanks guys! :-) No problem for the samples, just give me a minute and I'll fulfill your... musical requests, of course! :D
The Residents Meet The Residents
Voto:
Ajeje, what can I say, the first Residents just won’t leave my mind! :-)))
Joe Satriani Super Colossal
Voto:
Ah, the great Joe Satriani! I believe I hold the record for changing the CD after 10 seconds of listening to him. Maximum respect to those who listen to him, of course :-))
Michael Jackson Thriller

"The anti-Clash" album" is a wonderful definition, Ringo, truly exhaustive. It makes the unsuspecting listener, who hasn't experienced those years firsthand (myself included), understand that Strummer & co.'s rival was an artist with intentions and attitudes diametrically opposed to Punk and alternative culture. Even though the sales results of the two albums, I believe, in the end were roughly similar, in the face of the Revolution ;-)
