@easy: it's very likely that it's precisely for the reasons you mentioned that I love "Dirty"; it seems to me the album that more than any other in the discography manages to perfectly balance Noise-psychedelic experimentation and "Pop" song format, making it accessible to a wider audience without losing its essence at all (thanks also to Butch Vig's perfect production). Come on, does that mean "Theresa's Soundworld" and "Sugar Kane" make you feel queasy? :-))

Fest, I would take a trip back to the '90s with "Dirty" and "Washing Machine" ;-)

In short, at this point it seems they have really said it all. Could it really be the end, easy? :-)

I agree with the good Q, tearing down an album from a band that produces a certain type of music, which doesn't fall within one's own preferences, seems frankly pointless. It's like trying to review an album by Stratovarius; I would end up writing a scroll of insults that would attract comments and backlash from those who adore Power and swords :-))

"Life is a test, many quest the universe
N' through my research, I felt the joy N' the hurt
The first shall be last N' the last shall be first
The basic instructions before leavin' Earth" Simply my all-time favorite album, transcending any classification and distinction between genres, sounds, vibes, emotions. A unique work, a masterpiece in the history of music that anyone (even the cordial NO TO GARBAGE) should own. Kudos to kill for the retrieval :-)

"People said his brain was infected by devils." Is a 5+ expected?

Was there really a need for the fourth review of this album?

The "quintessence of the mainstream"? And what's wrong with that? Is your aim to shout to humanity that the Beatles are an unworthy band and that anyone who listens to them is a poor ignoramus? It just seems to me I'm reading presumptuous and snobbish judgments against those who produce honest Pop and those who listen to it, including myself. If you listen to Lennon & co. expecting screeching guitar solos and 10-minute Ambient-Noise drones (as I believe you did, I see you a bit biased about it), I think you've completely missed the point; from the Beatles, you can expect nothing but 3-minute songs, perfectly arranged and produced. And I believe that this can be enough, especially for listeners like myself, who prefer to leave screeching guitar solos where they are.

You can cut them with Soundforge Ghem, there are also Fade In&Out functions to perfect everything. You can then use any program to convert WAV files to MP3 by setting a bitrate of 32 kbps (for respect of privacy laws!). Got it? As for "Dub Come Save Me," I’ll tell you, I’m not a huge fan of "pure" Dub and in the tracks leaning more toward Rap, good old Roots seems a bit too difficult for me with his acid-electronic experiments (I prefer him, for example, in tracks produced by Cut Chemist from Jurassic 5 in "Run Come Save Me"), the fact is I consider it his best work, definitely more accessible and easily digestible. That's all :-)

I've been listening to it continuously these days, it's truly amazing. Post-Rock is a world that fascinates me greatly, I'll definitely explore it further. Great review open :-)
