It's true, the "homemade" version looks even more beautiful.. It must be the immediacy of the "in da house" recording! :-))

What you reviewed is the "Remastered & Extended Edition" from 2003, featuring eight Bonus Tracks, three of which are unreleased. It has beautiful artwork and a very well-crafted booklet. In short, it’s a must-have ;-))

The Echo & The Bunnymen album I prefer the most, congratulations Mariaelena, I was also thinking of reviewing it... What I like most about "Ocean Rain" is the band's remarkable ability to transition from purely guitar-driven tracks to more pop-oriented, orchestral pieces that have a wide scope, without compromising the album's overall cohesion. Ironically, the only flaw I can find might be in the arrangements, which sometimes seem a bit too mannered and baroque; other than that, nothing more to say—it's one of the best albums of the decade that's made a strong comeback in today's music scene. Hi :-)

An album that has always given me a "compilation effect," and that, although containing great tracks, just doesn't resonate with me like "The Bends" or the latest excellent "The Eraser" by Thom Yorke. A controversial review and perhaps a bit pretentious, but I still found it amusing :-)

I don't know.. Do you like "The Main Ingredient" by Pietro Roccia and Ci Elle Appiccicoso? :D

But excuse me, Leonid, it seems to me that there is a vast difference between a group like Arrested Development and Puff Daddy. I believe Arrested Development have strived to produce a certain type of music that, while avoiding the classic standards of the genre and without losing their identity, still tries to send a message, even if it's different, and it seems to me that it has nothing to do with Puff Daddy, Timbaland, or what you refer to as "chart-topping R&B." And then, excuse me, but why should we always consider club Hip-Hop as a bad thing to eradicate? There are mainstream productions that, in my opinion, have had a historical significance equal to, and in no way lesser than, that of the underground counterpart. Shall we move our little behinds to the rhythm of the music, or not? :-))

I also listened to the samples of the tracks, odra, some of them don’t sound bad at all, while others seem almost like vintage "B-sides & rarities," honestly a bit dated.. If we’re connecting back to other greats of the era, De La Soul, I definitely prefer their latest "The Grind Date" without a doubt ;-).
