Woody Allen Match Point

I almost agree with ziabice on everything... While it’s not a great film, it’s probably one of the best chapters written by Woody Allen in recent years... At least he tried not to serve up the same old dish... ;-)

@Ghemison: If you're lucky, you might even snag the European Limited Edition, with a bonus track... Release the hounds! ;-)

To me, the presence of Scarlett Johansson (as well as that of Woody Allen) seemed more like a pretext to attract an audience to the latest "Scoop," personally... I appreciated "Match Point" for its courage to take a different direction, compared to the usual productions made by Mr. Allen, despite some lengthy and excessive heaviness... A film to be revisited and re-evaluated.

The fact is that the release of "Never Never Land" didn't seem to me like a true evolution in the sounds of the group... More than anything, it felt like a "forced removal" of most of the Hip-Hop/Electro component from the previous work (besides the physical removal of DJ Shadow, of course...), carried out by James Lavelle to wink at a predominantly indie-oriented audience, and it didn’t seem completely successful to me... Maybe it’s just that I'm not used to intensive listening of a certain type of sound; it really felt like a drag... :D

@under: Exactly, a beautiful video, with an attached "cathartic" conclusion.... One of the best of the 90s, in my opinion.... @antmo: yes, it’s one of the few decent tracks from "The Outsider"... In the different editions of the 12", you can also find some really interesting remixes, like the one by DJ Fresh... That's all! :-)

I've always been fascinated by these but I've never dug deeper... what album do you recommend?
Name: under | Date: 4/6/2007 | Rating: 5 | Album Rating: — <-- "Psyence Fiction", of course... When Thom Yorke recites "I'm a rabbit in your headlights, Christian suburbanites" you really get chills....

I liked them much more during the time of "Psyence Fiction," maybe it's the almost "mystical" reverence I have for Mr. Josh Davis, who recently stumbled into the total misstep of "The Outsider" (sigh!)... Great page, wish there were more like it... ;-))

It seems to me the best and the most objective, so far...
