Amon Tobin Bricolage

I'm listening to it again these days; he really has a complex and intricate way of building his compositions... Much more beautiful than "Supermodified," and "Permutation" is also a splendid work...

@vellutogrigio: I know Bava, Argento, and the whole gang, I also know "Se7en," and I really like it... What category do I fall into?
Paolo Sorrentino Il Divo
Voto:
I don't know, I've always liked Sorrentino, especially from a technical standpoint, but the topic being a bit too political and thorny pulls me away from watching...
Ridley Scott American Gangster

Beautiful, stellar soundtrack....

What are you talking about, hey?? :-))
Machine Head Burn My Eyes
Voto:
Ah.... And shall we talk about a certain "The Downward Spiral" by Nine Inch Nails?

By the way, in response to a previous comment, it's not that 1994 seems so "anonymous" to me as a year: albums of absolutely different genres like "Dummy" by Portishead, "Hard To Earn" by Gang Starr, the self-titled debut by KoRn, "Amber" by Autechre, and "Strictly Turntablized" by DJ Krush, I believe, do not allow one to dismiss such a crucial year for the development of '90s soundscapes so casually...

I don't understand much, but it seems that the historical path you outline in the first lines is not that linear... Machine Head is certainly a group that represents a break from more "classic" metal (if you allow me the term, as an absolute layman), and it’s no coincidence that many place them in the Nu-Metal genre alongside KoRn and the like... A review that leans a bit too much towards industry insiders, also due to the mentioned bands, which are not very known to non-metal fans...
Trentemoller The Last Resort

You can listen to them in the second album of "The Trentemoller Chronicles," a collection of b-sides, rarities, remixes, and unreleased material that came out last year... There are, among others, remixes by Royksopp, The Knife, Moby... Mouthwatering stuff.

However, the remixes are not that minimal; on the contrary... They have pretty layered and complex musical backgrounds, and that’s what makes them less tacky and predictable, even though they are definitely danceable (which is not a bad thing at all)...
