antimo_d you are absolutely right, and giving credit to those theories, the fact remains that Barrett continued to record, releasing two more unreleased albums. Barrett was pushed out because he hindered the commercial success of the group; Syd didn’t want to appear on TV or make music videos and all the bullshit that goes into promoting an album or a band... and it’s also true that the Pink Floyd continued to capitalize on his figure. Wish You Were Here, The Dark Side Of The Moon, and The Wall all speak of his madness!

zzzzzzz one can write whatever they want, but since we're talking about music, some additional guidance would be appreciated, and giving it doesn't mean diluting one's style, nor does it have to be technical... I realize that it's more challenging to write with this in mind (therefore I don't agree with Hal who argues the opposite), it's harder to analyze and delve deep into the work, digging beneath the surface, thus shifting from a subjective to an objective view! Writing solely about one's own feelings can be rewarding, and apparently, it is for the readers as well, perhaps because it's like laying bare one's thoughts, it's nothing more than writing in a secret diary and then showing it to everyone... it’s like allowing others to peek through the keyhole, even if they end up seeing nothing!
