...C'mon... listen to the albums I recommended to you, then maybe we could pick up the conversation again... p.s. don't take it as a debate!

I apologize if my responses have been a bit sharp, as Zion puts it.
First of all, Grasshopper, I assure you that I love the entire discography of De André, just as I consider at least the first four Led Zeppelin albums to be milestones, and I always enjoy listening to Battiato, particularly his classics (I prefer not to comment on his recent work!). However, I hope you agree with me in this case that it's somewhat annoying to extract phrases from a comment (which expressed something entirely different) and attribute to me things I never wrote or make associations I never made. If you, Hal, Moonchild, didn’t understand, then that’s your issue, considering someone else understood perfectly well, as Socrates. You continued to argue despite my subsequent clarifying comments about the misunderstanding that occurred. It would have perhaps been enough to read the original comment more attentively to realize it was an ironic remark; I didn't quote the famous phrase by Moretti for nothing. As for the rest, peace!

As for Our Shadow Will Remain, I don’t mind all these electronic sounds at all, quite the opposite...
It's important to consider that the album is also a tribute to certain music from the 80s (think Smiths and Joy Division), and it’s no coincidence that Leave Us Alone is openly inspired by the figure of Ian Curtis!
Of course, the songs all originate from a folk matrix, and I agree with you that often in their original form they have a greater charm.

Furthermore, I am eagerly awaiting (we should be there by now, the release date is in February!) Tara Angell's album, which is produced by Joseph. Those who have already heard it (Daniel Lanois, for example) speak of a masterpiece, and from the few excerpts I have had the pleasure of listening to, it truly seems like a great record!

I know Osborne's album, even if I didn't like it; however, I find Arthur's contribution to the Sister Solarium album to be better, where there is a song written by him, Butterfly (which is gorgeous!). The cover of Wild Horses on the latest Faultline album is also interesting!
Genesis Trespass

The most remarkable thing about the album is Gabriel's voice and lyrics; the songs are all quite good, but it’s a shame that sometimes they go a bit too over the top, a tendency that will be confirmed with their subsequent works.

A clarification for Kosmogabri: when we talk about a source of inspiration, we mean "source of inspirations for songwriters and musicians (as Leonard Cohen would say), certainly not for listeners like you or me!

Grasshopper and similar ones, don't insist, you misunderstood, no name has been given as a negative example! If you're having trouble understanding, that's your issue, what I've written is quite clear. It's like someone loving Bob Dylan's music but not being able to listen to Hank Williams (in this case, Bob Dylan would have taken the place of De André! Got it? It's simple, right? ...but as Kosmogabri says, there can be many reasons, as she herself clarified a few comments ago... mine was just a purely musical discussion.

In any case, there's not much to gain! :)
