Wovenhand Consider The Birds

If it weren't for the introduction on Nick Cave, this would really be a nice review!

Great review (except for the ending about the women who live under your house!), which perfectly and originally describes the album! I'm coming in late on this review and reading these old comments, I noticed that this review doesn’t say much about the music generated by Malkmus's band. Personally, I believe that's not true, especially since Pavement is one of those indescribable bands, and saying that their style resembles Pixies, Sonic Youth, etc. is, in some ways, a mistake (each person can see the similarities they want). I think Malkmus and company’s attitude is closer to the English rock movement of the early '70s, like Tony McPhee and Groundhogs, and as for the style, I believe the best reference to understand what we’re talking about is McCartney's Ram album (from 1972)... then, of course, in a band like this, you can see everything... that’s the beauty of Pavement.
Pavement Crooked Rain Crooked Rain

Great album! However, I find the review very disappointing; some say you’ve said everything there is to say about this record in just a few lines, but I completely disagree. You say little, way too little, almost nothing!
Pavement Terror Twilight

I agree with you, Nick, the review starts off great, but it might be a bit too short (better that than overly lengthy)... it gives me a sense of "unfinished," however, just for the beginning, it deserves the highest score!
Pavement Brighten The Corners

The albums by Pavement are all great, just like those by Malkmus, but this one is a bit below the others; Terror Twilight and the first three are much better... p.s. Stereo is a good song, but I think it's an exaggeration to say it's worth all of Beck's albums... actually, more than an exaggeration, it's downright nonsense!
