From your impressions about the work, it seems there's a lot going on, and based on my past experiences, that's not a good sign, even considering we're talking about the Flaming Lips. I listened to the album superficially, and this impression was confirmed. However, unlike other times, I didn't feel the magic that lingered over albums like Soft Bulletin, which seems to be the closest reference. I feel there's confusion but not the usual "Beata Confusione." I would like to be wrong, but I have the sense that our heroes, this time, while taking a leak, missed the mark and went outside the pot. Clearly, I hope I'm mistaken.

A work that continues to retain its freshness despite the passage of time, something common to almost all Acid folk works, unlike many prog works from the same era that, despite being from the same period, do not hide their wrinkles.

I understand that Iceland is starting to wear thin, recorded in a pool where the Sigur Ros were also recorded. I get it, but this is a very well-balanced work between compositions and refined arrangements. Let's hope that in the near future the balance does not break and what is now a spell does not turn into a cloying exercise in style that loses its sense of proportion. It would be a real shame, but in these fragile creatures, the longer step always lurks around the corner.

Oh, good news, I'll read it tomorrow when I'm more focused.

A beautiful place to spend a lovely vacation, far away from everything. Even after 12 years since leaving, time has almost stopped in a colorful bubble.

After 11 years since this album, I still think it's the best. Let's say that the starting formula isn't exactly original, and even with the second one, although the proportions of the ingredients are mixed up, the final taste starts to slowly feel familiar, which becomes more evident over time, leading to a decline in writing quality. So I would hold onto this tightly.

I know it by name but it has never come into my hands.

Certainly the most "pleasant" of the group, without falling into the trivial. Then I don't know how many will find a piece like the black dirge Pink flodyana "The beginning is Night" enjoyable.

Sure, the comparison with the previous ones is ruthless, but if you listen to it with a clear mind, free from unnecessary comparisons, it can be enjoyed without too many existential issues and without the usual "They are Finished with "White Light........." which is a big bullshit because the eponymous one is a great album, different but with nothing to envy from the previous ones. Of course, the shirts with the "Banana" sell better.
