Dietrich Buxtehude (Bad Oldesloe or Helsingborg, 1637 – Lübeck, May 9, 1707) was a German-Danish composer and organist. A cultured man, polyglot, excellent instrumentalist, and modest poet, Buxtehude developed a style that embraced the various compositional trends of the time, such as fantasia, chorale, and fugue, influencing many composers, including the young Johann Sebastian Bach. His compositions for organ are considered the pinnacle of the German organ school of the 17th century.
Buxtehude moved to various cities in northern Germany before settling in Lübeck, where his fame reached its peak, to the extent that his performances were known throughout the country. Much of his work has survived into the 21st century through manuscripts and copies, but none of his most celebrated productions, the vocal concerts known as Abendmusiken, have preserved any scores. The richness of his works positions him as the foremost German composer in the generation between Heinrich Schütz and Johann Sebastian Bach.

I stopped at the nice and acceptable "Welcome to the South." I think I will only watch this movie under torture.

The term "Neapolitan song" refers to the popular music originating from Naples.

The repertoire that spans from the early nineteenth century to the immediate post-World War II period constitutes what is known as classic Neapolitan song, and it represents one of the areas of excellence in Italian song, becoming over the years a symbol of Italy's musical identity worldwide. The pieces from this period have been performed over time by numerous world-famous artists who have contributed to the spread of Neapolitan music. Notable names include Enrico Caruso, Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, José Carreras, Elvis Presley, Renato Carosone, Andrea Bocelli, Mia Martini, and many others.

Despite being popular music, thus of oral tradition, according to some musicologists, it exceptionally belongs to popular music.

After the Assago concert on 04/05/2011, I can't help but give it 5; among truly stunning tracks ("In The Flesh?", "Goodbye Blue Sky", "Hey You", "Is There Anybody Out There?", "Comfortably Numb", "waiting For The Worms", "The Trial"), there are others that frankly leave something to be desired.

A balloon bomb is an unmanned airship that carries explosive or incendiary devices, created to strike the opposing territory from a distance during a conflict. The earliest known examples of this technique involve the Ballonbomben (from German) used by Austro-Hungarian troops during the Venetian insurrection of the Republic of San Marco in 1848. The use of unmanned air balloons for offensive purposes was revived during World War II by both the British and the Japanese: in the first case, with Operation Outward, the objective was to hit the territory of Nazi Germany, while in the latter, the target was the (much more distant) continental territory of the United States of America.

Naval operations during the First World War primarily developed around the need to ensure the safety of one's maritime communication routes and to block or undermine those of the enemy. In particular, the military navies of the Allied powers (the British Royal Navy, the French Marine nationale, the Russian Voenno Morskoj Flot Rossijskoj Imperii, the Italian Regia Marina, and to a lesser extent, the American United States Navy and the Japanese Dai-Nippon Teikoku Kaigun) adopted a strategy aimed at controlling the areas used by their maritime traffic and imposing a blockade on their adversaries. The naval operations of the Central Powers' navies (the German Kaiserliche Marine, the Austro-Hungarian k.u.k. Kriegsmarine, and the Ottoman Osmanli Donanmasi) were instead characterized by the "flotilla in being" strategy: outnumbered, the surface fleets of the Central Powers did not engage in direct confrontations with the bulk of the enemy but maintained a "potential" threat, aiming to wear out adversary forces, to break through blockades, and to undermine commercial routes through the use of light units, submarines, and privateer ships.
