surpassed???? is this a motorcycle race? what Hendrix wrote and did is unique! and uniqueness, as the word suggests, is unique...so there can be other uniqueness, but that doesn't diminish or surpass other uniqueness while you, mediocre reviewer, will indeed be surpassed... is my uniqueness of intent clear?

Contemplation, right! I forgot to mention that Griffin was the tenor saxophonist on the two superb albums by Monk that you referenced, and that's it!
Voto:
Griffin may not have been an innovator, but he was lightning-fast on the tenor, he was called the "little giant" (because of his short stature) but he made 2 important records for jazz: "Way Out" and "J.G. Sextet," and in duo with Eddie Davis, they created spectacular works like "The Tenor Scene" and "Live at Minton's"... P.S. In my opinion, the cover design is quite beautiful (of course, Warhol's masterpieces are in a different league, not drawings for records...)

seen centuries ago, but as always happens with Stone, I remember it as a precious film with some stylistic slips, maybe one day I will watch it again...

Great review! Unfortunately, I’ve never heard the album; I have other works by Shepp and I like them a lot.
