Iron Maiden Fear Of The Dark

good review. For me, Fear of the Dark is perhaps the most overrated album in the entire Maiden discography. As has already been pointed out by someone (you, primarily), three gems cannot save a lackluster effort. Songs like the title track, "Be Quick or be Dead," and "Afraid to Shoot Strangers" are excellent, but others like "The Apparition" or "Weekend Warrior" are forgettable. While some songs may justify the purchase, others make you regret it. In my view, it’s an album to own only to complete the band’s discography and, as mentioned earlier, for the three aforementioned tracks. Good review anyway!

Given the age and everything else, it seems to me like a very good review. There's no debate about the album; for me, it remains slightly (but really just a bit, half a notch at most) inferior to the subsequent "Defenders of the Faith," but it's still a masterpiece. Well done, keep it up!

I admit that I forgot to add that this review was written with the intention of conveying how much I love this album... it's made more from the heart than from the head, undoubtedly, but I wanted to write it this way. However, I often see comments like "mediocre album, much inferior to the others." Trying to be objective, I would say it might appeal less than others, but in my opinion, it's still exaggerated to rate it; if it's that much, 3 stars. For me, it remains very underrated, not to mention that many so-called fans of the Maiden hardly even know it, since once you've listened to "The Number of the Beast," you think you already know everything about the band. If we could then try to avoid passing judgment as if they were absolute truths, that would be much better.

I'm sorry, I forgot to record the grade! Here it is.

Great review, for me one of the most important and representative albums of Heavy Metal. I partly agree with the comment about "The Sentinel"; it's an exaggeration to say it's the best ever (although it makes sense, given the passion for the genre), but when talking about the movement as a whole, it could easily be one of the most representative. I rate both the album and your work 5.

You're right about the lengthy review; unfortunately, that's my style, and I need to try to be a bit more concise. Pardon the initial solo of de ja vu, which is by Murray, my mistake. Until next time, maybe trying to apply more thought and less heart, even though it will be difficult!

I completely disagree about Heaven Can Wait; for me, it’s actually the least successful track on the album! However, you redeemed yourself big time by ranking the album among the group’s best works. Many people barely pay attention to this album, which, for me (and thankfully many others), is pure magic!
