Sting If On A Winter's Night...
Voto:
Same as above (Muffinman)... I'm looking for the review of Sting's latest album and guess who reviewed it? Punisher, you're like parsley! But could you do me a favor and explain what’s wrong with Sting’s voice, why you find it unsuitable, and what would be an appropriate voice for this kind of traditional British lyrics? And then, why is it pretentious and an expression of megalomania? I await your clarifications and, I admit, also another review from someone else.
Michael Mann Nemico Pubblico
Voto:
I find Mann a valid action movie director, especially for the psychological depth that is always present, unlike the usual films that are all action and no brain. "The Heat" is a great example of action + psychological content. Despite your somewhat sparse rating, I think I want to see it.
Federico De Caroli Nella Penombra Il Demone
Voto:
I don't know the author, nor as a musician. I have to say that the "weak of stomach" part makes me ponder a bit on whether to read it or not, but I am strongly intrigued, I must admit; especially because it concerns a dream diary, if I understood correctly.

Maurizio Cattelan Tre bambini impiccati

It doesn’t impress me at all; I find it annoyingly artificial, and that’s the only emotion it evokes in me. I don’t understand where the provocation lies, if not perhaps in displaying this work prominently in Milan (as I gathered) to create buzz and boost the artist's profile. I also don’t grasp the meaning of: “this work tells the tension that exists in reality.” For that, just look at any images of wars and various messes scattered around the globe. I was already familiar with the pope hit by the meteorite and Hitler; I find the first absurd and ridiculous, and the second nauseating, but I’m not sure if those were the feelings Cattelan aimed to provoke. An image that conveys death and tension to me is that of Kennedy on the autopsy table. I completely agree with Iside.
Kenneth Branagh Frankenstein Di Mary Shelley
Voto:
I find Kenneth Branagh to be overly overrated, and the supposed affinities between him and Olivier, which have been read about almost everywhere in the past, are at the very least disrespectful (to Olivier, that is). And that Helena Bonham Carter, I've never been able to stand.
Brian Harnetty & Bonnie "Prince" Billy Silent City
Voto:
More than a review, it feels like the beginning of a book. Sometimes it can be too dull and predictable to analytically describe a musical work, and if one chooses to simply convey sensations, images, the important thing is to do it well, without overusing big words and pompous phrases that mean nothing.

Immense, the Minutemen part 2 have nothing to envy to "Double Nickels". I will be forever thankful to my "old" brother who passed them on to me along with a myriad of REAL '80s music.
