Regarding the fact that they have never sold out, I completely agree with teenagelobotomy. In fact, they seem to be the only band among the more famous ones that has never released a greatest hits or best of, etc. Moreover, from the '70s to today, they have only issued two official live albums (excluding DVDs and various box sets), so it doesn’t seem to me that they have exploited their fame too much. It’s true that with the last album they have softened a bit, some tracks almost sound pop, but I think it’s a discussion more related to age than to specific commercial choices.

Well, regarding the technical issue, I agree with lobotomy, that is, I think these were musicians with real talent, definitely more gifted than what might come across in their music. However, honestly, I can’t really picture them playing as precisely and refined as Yes. But it’s also true that I can’t see Yes playing as heavy as AC/DC, because playing heavy isn’t easy at all, and many confuse playing tough with just making noise. AC/DC were solid, but they played well. Many nu-metal bands today seem to me to just make a lot of noise for its own sake.

I haven't seen the movie, but the album is a masterpiece. And if I'm not mistaken, there's also a soundtrack album, which is somewhat different from the original Quadrophenia, featuring guests like Booker T and James Brown.

These ignorant folks from the League have spit on the tricolor, threatened to march on Rome with rifles, scream "Rome is thieving!" day in and day out they propose bullshit laws, like reserving buses in Milan only for Milanese and other grotesque and senseless ideas. As far as I'm concerned, this damn League is the true anomaly of Italian politics, and it's not an anomaly just because they're in power, but because they exist; a party like that should be declared ILLEGAL, it should be dismantled by law just like they did with the fascists.
