One of the most interesting proposals of the last ten years, but they faded a bit too soon.
Plastikman Closer
Voto:
One of Plastikman's masterpieces, it pairs well with "Consumed" and "Artifakts (B.C.)."

Crystal clear disc.
Beastie Boys Hot Sauce Committee Part Two

I caught it on the fly, streaming, a bit too little to form a clear idea. However, it seems to me that they wanted to play around with all the Beastie versions we've seen so far (for example, there's the track that harks back to their early days).

How great is the Dismemberment Plan, and they're missing in the Database too!

Oh, the Smiths were also covered by J Mascis, so I’d say we can close the circle here.

I completely agree with the last comment by fiquata, even though "You Turn Me On" remains an album of beautiful songs (the uniqueness lies precisely in the fact that they are fully realized songs). The Fall are perhaps relevant in a broader sense, in that much of the Lo-Fi aesthetic undeniably draws from Smith's vocabulary. Off the top of my head, I can think of tracks like "Fame Throwa" on Pavement's first album, but there would be plenty of examples.
Autechre Quaristice (Limited Edition)

Not as weak as "Oversteps," but we're close, even though there are still some flashes of brilliance (and class) here and there, especially in the longer and more structured tracks.

New Zealand = Flying Nun. I really miss that, though!
