What a beautiful record!

Overrated to an extreme, it must be said they’ve done some nice stuff ("Somewhere At The Bottom Of The River Between Vega And Altair"), but nothing transcendental or that hasn't been heard before. In all the Screamo/Post Hardcore circles, whether claiming to be or not, every few years an ā€œinflatedā€ band pops up, while in reality, there hasn’t been anything relevant for an eternity now. On the spot, the last SERIOUS album I can associate with Screamo that comes to mind is "Y" by Daitro, which is not even their most intense work, to be honest. Bring back pg.99!

They have always liked less than the Buzzcocks, but you can only raise your hands for the first two.

Magnificent group. In a primarily Punk context, within which they moved and from which they undoubtedly drew inspiration, they managed to carry on weird and out-of-context ideas, anticipating with their creativity and approach a lot of things that are still very relevant today. Who mentioned the Books (of which Zammuto happily adorns the homepage with a beautiful album)?

Beautiful, multifaceted album that is above all capable of moving away from the twisted sketches of the Books, which is no small feat.

You know, I was going to Rome to see them and then do it again the next day with Fine Before You Came, but the nonlinear unfolding of events knocked me down. I made up for it yesterday with Father Murphy, but there’s still a bit of regret.

You are right, so far the lesser album by Xiu Xiu, even more than "Dear God I Hate Myself," which took a while to win me over. In any case, there are gems here too, and it must be said that a lesser album by Stewart is still well above average.

"Visqueen" bored me to death back then, and you're not the first to praise it. Let's see.

I've often had the opportunity to take this, but I've always procrastinated. A bit ingloriously, I say that for me their best is "Dub Housing," where the deconstructive vein perfectly balances with the song form, whereas in the beautiful "Modern Dance" there's still so much Garage and materiality. But then, what a magnificent title "Dub Housing" is!

Not bad the Sacred Bones catalog 2010, and this year they kicked off with a bang (Pop.1280, The Men).
