David Lean Lawrence d'Arabia

colossus of colossal colossale. Peter O'Toole deflagrating. lovely review.
the first draft of the screenplay was more politicized, condemning British (and French) behavior. the version that made it to film focused more on Lawrence's dilemma, in search of his own identity. he comes to truly believe that he is the one for whom the future is unwritten, and that he can write it. I don't know if the bloodlust that overwhelms him is a parallel to English greed in those circumstances. the using and then discarding of the Arab tribes, catalyzed by Lawrence, for their own ends.

I don't like the review. I like the album.
Morrissey You Are The Quarry
Voto:
the usual morrissey masturbating in front of the mirror, with some clumsy socio-political attempts (america is not the world) and a couple of impactful titles devoid of substance. the melodies are better than the lyrics. he has completely lost his inspiration, his humor, the ability to cut with words or reach the pulsating zones. bring us back vauxhall and i.
Randy Newman Little Criminals
Voto:
sail away is from '72, not '71. god's song is not sweet: it’s bitter like few things, proceeding with funereal piano chords, behind a sarcastic, humorously sacrilegious, and cynical text that conceals human warmth.
little criminals doesn’t seem to ring a bell for me. but the review is worth it, if only for the "they would have a hard time relating it to the sensual sphere."

dangerously in love in its own way (a way for which I currently can't find adequate adjectives) wasn't bad.
