Dear Purpulan, the Valentis get involved because so many, with the shoegaze revival, are shamelessly copying them. There's not much to do about it. Animal Collective? Yes, it’s true, they are also relevant, in fact, I don't like them. But at least I recognize the compositional skill and the effective sound blend in Panda Bear and the gang. These guys, however, are really subpar. Just hype, nothing but hype. Don't trust good old Appe, who remains an expert aficionado anyway :-)

@SUPERVAI: you’re legendary, I thought I was the only one who knew about a seminal band like the TITR... by the way, do you know Elliott? they’re a fantastic band too... if you haven’t listened to them yet, I recommend "False Cathedrals," an amazing album. As for Knapsack, I’ve only heard their name. Throw an album my way, come on.

M. Everett is an author with a capital A, no doubt about it. The first two albums are cornerstones of the quirky rock we love so much. I haven't heard this one, so I won't pass any judgment on it. I welcome him warmly.

I thought I knew the entire Revelation-Deep Elm-Dischord-Jade Tree catalog, I thought I owned almost everything from the "good" emo scene of the '90s... but I had never heard of these.
