The Radio Dept. Clinging To A Scheme

I don't know, I approached "Lesser matters" full of expectations, which were partially disappointed. Essentially, it said little to me. I can't find a reason (nor the time) to follow them anymore. The review is good, even though the references to MBV have become tiring (I'll admit I'm guilty of that too). Does anyone know when the double anthology of the immense Slowdive is coming out?

I am very curious. Why don't they reform the FNM? Now more than ever, there is a need for a group like that.

In the vastness of things I have to listen to, I don't think I'll dedicate any space to him in the immediate future. The cover is beautiful, though.
Blood, Sweat & Tears Child Is Father to the Man

The first two are really great albums. This one maybe gets half a point more. You're precise as always.

Ok Fiq, everything is in order. You’ve explained yourself. @ODRA: I agree with your statement about the perfect hybrid. The touch of the Heliocentrics is palpable; just compare this album to the latest "mulatu steps ahead."

I trust my headphones enough to say that, if I ever manage to listen to the entire production of Astatke (which seems extensive to me), I won’t consider this album "skippable." That’s how I feel, you know. You can call them, if you like, "presumptions" ;)

@FIQUATA: I don't consider it "insignificant" at all; on the contrary, as the reviewer says, it's one of the best albums of 2009. Whether Mulatu is little or much doesn't matter to me; for me, it's an excellent album of "modern" afrobeat jazz (bad term, I know). I admit that I only know the last two productions of the Ethiopian jazz musician, both of which are very valid. I'm gradually discovering the Strut world, also thanks to one of your tips. I agree about the latest Whitefield Brothers, that's great too. Since we're in the mood for recommendations, I'll also throw in the latest from Souljazz Orchestra, "Rising Sun."

A bit of sadness has come over me too... I'll send you a private message because I need to ask you something. I'm going to skip over the proposal, please don't hold it against me :)

Great album. Staying on topic, there are abundant ejaculations for fans of Jesus and Mary Chain and of bloody Valentino. Excellent review.
