Ah ezzechiè, I wanted to tell you something... I read all the nonsense in the comments about "Brokeback Mountain"... and I had a thought: are we sure you’re really “from the street”? You study DAMS, your dad worked at Alitalia... so what about me, raised in public housing in Labaro, with a dad who’s a bricklayer and a mom who’s a cleaner, who am I, Rusty the savage? And then... you don’t threaten from behind a keyboard, you don’t offend women (Kosmogabri)... didn’t they teach you honor, on the street?

@ FEDEEE: America is a superpower in our eyes, they are very "provincial," in the sense that each state looks after its own business... and in the end they told Bush to f*** off, while we've always let these clowns govern us... come on, let's admit it... half of Europe is laughing at us. Anyway, nice blog of yours, I checked it out yesterday.

@ GAE: let me explain. with that statement I meant to say that music shapes us as individuals, influences our choices, our opinions. It contributes to what sociologists define as "socialization." Listening to Husker Du rather than Marco Carta is a political act. Buying a vinyl (or a cd) instead of downloading it is a political act. Politics is not just done in parliament, but also through small everyday gestures. Politics is not far from us poor losers. They want us to believe that, but it's not true. I hope I've made myself clear. @ OLEEINAR: it's no coincidence that the "extraordinary expressions" you mention, KG and VDGG, are the only 2 prog bands I admire. It can't be a coincidence, right? :)

What the hell, appestà!!! On your advice (private message), I’m the second nerd who ordered it from stickman, I went off on my (well-deserved) vacation, I come back, listen to it calmly and then shoot my fourth fancy review, and what do you do? You review it before me! And go (friendly) to hell! Good album anyway, even though I agree with comment 26 from good vortexsurfer (by the way, I’m listening to your work, I'll let you know)...appestà, what the hell!!!!

The Genesis and Dream Theater have as much in common as Bad Brains and Ramones do: apparently nothing, but stylistically it’s the same thing anyway. And then... music is political, dear Oleeinar, whether you like it or not. Anyway, I think prog sucks, that’s clear, right? Changing the subject: I read with horror about the attacks you suffered from that asshole ezzecchiele. I tried to respond to him, but the site won’t let me post the comment. I wanted to express my utmost solidarity. As a Roman, I’m ashamed to share the air with people like that.

Dear Supercheri, this film is necessary. Necessary and unfortunately pointless, because no one will watch it. None of those who could open their eyes to the vision of the film. Those who will watch it will be people who, more or less, already have a clear understanding of how things work in this country. I am not worried about the fact that a country is "shamed," as you say. And these are not "weaknesses and trivialities": I find this statement from you serious. It is the same mental process that justifies a Prime Minister who sleeps around while simultaneously enacting an ultra-repressive law on prostitution. We did not invent reality shows, Supercheri. The reality show itself is not the EVIL. The EVIL is, a phenomenon typically Italian, the equation "Mediaset spectacle culture = politics." I know people whose only source of information is tg5. The only tool to understand the world is tg5. Do you understand? They are not "weaknesses and trivialities."

Well done, Ez, necessary review. Ritmo Tribale were a great band. I read that he had serious drug problems... I'm very curious to listen to this record. By the way, is it easy to find?

@ Franci: "The resentment of punks towards that kind of music stemmed from the fact that bands like VDGG, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes signed with majors, had million-dollar productions, and could even wipe their asses with $50 bills." What are you talking about...the Pistols signed immediately with EMI, The Clash with Sony, the Ramones with Sire (a satellite label of EMI, I believe...) it’s you who by saying this diminish punk...if a clear stance isn’t adopted, as these bands did back then, asserting that the pomposity of a certain prog (with the exception of King Crimson) is cloying and harmful, you end up giving a blow to the wheel and one to the tub, dear Franci...a typical Italian attitude. I'm not afraid to say that Genesis sucked, that Dream Theater (much appreciated around here) suck just as much...Husker Du, Ramones, The Clash, etc...should be taught in schools, not to mention anything else.
