I clarify my statement. I loved Megadeth; albums like "So Far, So Good..." and "Peace Sells" are indisputable masterpieces, and I agree with you, Anatas, when you say that without them and other bands, Mastodon and Meshuggah wouldn't exist... it's logical, like saying that without N. Young, Bonnie Prince Billy wouldn't exist (to sound cool and talk about a different genre). However, unlike Slayer (who remain relevant and credible), or Motörhead (who play a genre that is immortal in itself), or Pantera, Sepultura, etc., Megadeth is the classic band that hasn't managed to keep up with the times. Is it the fault of the subgenre? We shouldn't forget that thrash metal is a phenomenon typical of the '80s. Bands like them, as well as groups like Anthrax, Overkill, Testament, Exodus, etc., today don't sound credible. They are as dead as the genre they represented. They have remained static, failing to bring innovation to their sound, and rightly so, they have been forgotten. This doesn’t diminish the fact that their contribution to this magnificent music has been fundamental. Dear JHOANNESULVER, you can listen to Megadeth from "Rust in Peace"... but in my opinion, you can't listen to the ones from "Endgame". The innovative, fresh bands in 2009 are others, and it’s right that it is so. One of metal's many merits has always been, despite what its detractors say, that it does not stay stagnant but knows how to reinvent itself. I hope I explained myself, greetings to all. Anatas, good luck with your things.

MUFFINMAN, it would be best if you read it first...I didn't say you don't like punk. I said you should go listen to jazz with your little friend CONTY, who doesn't understand a damn thing about punk. That's different, it seems to me. And then...enough with this story that today's rock sucks...clichés galore, huh muffinman?

Oh, do you like jazz? And do you go listen to jazz! What the hell do you want? Anyone who doesn't understand a damn thing about punk (like MUFFINMAN and CONTEMPLAZIONE) doesn't understand a damn thing about ROCK...it's a consequence. Punk has influenced (and continues to influence) a good part of today's rock.

For the sake of par condicio, I’ll say it here too: in 2009, how on earth can you still listen to Megadeth? Guys, metal is going in a completely different direction...
Muse The Resistance

@ HB: I care for you, but please don't compare the Muse to The Smiths and Suede... they have nothing in common. The former have a pompousness that serves no purpose, typical of a big production; the latter are simply refined. It's different, you know :)

EZY like a hybrid between Tatangelo, Beyoncé, and Jovanotti? And the one who danced with the 883? It can be done...
