I think about it late when I was already on the verge of living my adolescence spent without him, how did I do all this time without him?

masterpiece. I own the limited edition in double white vinyl, which includes a 12" picture disc (featuring the picture of the guy with the hat who is anally brutalizing the blond one while the others shower him in gold). well done.

@ROSASPINA: does black metal have negative messages? In some cases, that's true. But how can rap, glam metal, or rock in general not have them (jurix has already answered this well)? The reality is that context is always crucial: just as Motley Crue were products of the hedonistic Los Angeles of the '80s, to understand black metal one must analyze the culture of the places where it originated: Scandinavia. Pride in pagan cults, nationalism, isolationism are part of the "common sentiment," which can also be somewhat right-leaning, of a segment of that population. Black metal simply extremists (I repeat: extremists) such themes, giving them an additional feral, grandguignolesque, and, of course, satanic sheen. Then there are interesting figures (like Emperor) and clowns (the singer from Shining). But this is part of the game.

I read an interview with the singer of these guys that was nothing short of chilling... incitement to suicide, violence, racism... well, it’s part of the game (and the genre), maybe it's just that as I get older I can tolerate certain statements less, but it really seemed inappropriate to me.

I have the previous album... everyone speaks very highly of it, but I've heard little about it.

I agree with Bartle, Sludge is music for existentialist office workers. Music that contains a fascinating paradox: fiercely elitist (even for many metalheads, it's unbearable) but made by typical "white trash" losers, to quote the good caz. Except for the churches of misery, which, if I'm not mistaken, are Japanese. Right, Bartle? Anyway, for me, the absolute masters of the genre remain EyeHateGod with "Dopesick," truly disturbing. The other day I was listening to them in the car, with the downpour outside. An indefinable feeling of discomfort rose in me, almost sweet. Holy shit.

Great STONEY, I completely agree with you. I feel exactly the same way about heroin, cocaine, and the like. When it comes to smoking and weed, the discussion changes; in my opinion, the playful aspect is what matters (but if it gets excessive, then that's a different story). But for hard drugs, no: there's alienation, despair, inadequacy involved. And coercion, as you say.
