Nice debut Don Eldemasiado, having listened to the record it doesn't seem worthy of the title Top 1 2009, nor the girl of Topa n° 1. But tastes vary, as we know; for me, the Top 1 is Mayer Hawthorne with A Strange Arrangement, just imagine.

Paul Banks has a beautiful voice, in the early Interpol a bit too imitative but gradually becoming more personal (the same path as the band's music), powerful and warm at the same time, reminding me of Jim Morrison (rather than Ian). Being guitar-oriented in this specific case, even though I know I should enjoy PhD Gasta InterpolExpert, I don't ache to listen to Plenty.

Groups like DNA, MARS, etc. from NNY, or other types of extreme zornian sounds, right for stopping me at a few examples (which certainly aren’t modern classics, and if one truly believes that, they’re overestimating them), serve to push forward, to refine, and even to exacerbate the sensitivity of popular music, which in its most attentive interpreters picks up on that something inherent in new sonorities, vocal styles, rhythms, and timbres. They are therefore listened to as a document of a transitional phase (at least that's how I do it) or because one is convinced of being more up-to-date and even more cultured and intelligent, but these are other pathologies.
