But can you live walled up at home like bats until the sun sets??? I hate the summer... but let's get to the point, dear Gasta: I'm listening to something from their Space (I wasn't familiar with them) and it seems to me that the "excessive length" that you point out in some tracks is still more than tolerable, because the arrangements remain essential and the scores are light. In short, there is still good taste; they are far from being kitschy. So, I don't think I would get bored. Good recommendation.

beautiful the passage where you describe the journey you took from Catania to Castelbuono! I'm from the south too, and I know well the difficulties we encounter every time we travel for a concert (assuming anything makes it below Rome...). I didn't know this Festival at all, but believe me, if I had known about the Kula Shaker, I would have come on my knees! I loved them to death when I was younger, then I lost track of them...

There's a nose, trust me that certain traditions disguise themselves, change their garments with the changing times, but they don't die because they are tied to the deepest fears of man... I don't know if I make myself clear.

@ Kosmo & DeCommentatori: this little spirit is present in almost all cultures of the world in various forms and ways; often with a playful character, rarely with bad intentions like the Toggeli in Switzerland. Here (Salento) it is called "laurieddhru," and the most probable derivation seems to be from the Roman Lares, or household spirits. It was often believed that this spirit belonged to children who died before their time; through small pranks, like lifting the blankets during sleep or tickling or positioning themselves on the stomach of the sleeper, they claimed a bond of continuity, of presence at least, with the living.

@ Gasta: anyway, I suggest a cd that will hurt you very, very, very much, so it will have achieved its purpose: WATCHING FROM A DISTANCE by Warning. Good luck, this could be the last time we talk... @ Eversor Sperum: thank you for the space you give us on your page. I'm going to listen to the lifelover from their Space.
