Alright, let me get this straight: let’s take a game of chess; would you only enjoy it if, with every move, the player on turn performed acrobatic stunts like Buffon or scissor kicks like Parola in Panini stickers???

Katatonia Night Is The New Day

Even this impeccable review, differing viewpoints are welcome! I still hold the same opinion about the album, it's not bad by any means; the stylistic shift is always very much appreciated, and who, after all, would expect a Katatonia album to be identical to the previous one? Come on, the real issue here is that it literally lacks bite! If they had waited another year, I don’t know, refining their ideas, I believe NITND could have been the masterpiece one would reasonably expect from this group. They could have perhaps kept the same arrangements but ā€œdirtiedā€ the sound more, to avoid that annoying impression of ā€œpolishedā€ à la Opeth...

...tell me about it!! I constantly live in the past, surrounded by memories and alas by some regrets... Well, thank goodness for music!

Emotional album, I hadn't listened to it in a long time either, and now I've put it back on; if possible, I like it even more than before!! Regarding your story... what can I say... I think differently from MATACà, don't seek her out, don't do anything at all, too much time has passed and if she had loved you, she would have found a way to let you know. So sit down, slowly savor a good deep red wine, and enjoy the warmth of the afternoon...

Now that I realize, there are no reviews of To/Die/For (finnish melancholy from Amorphis and Sentenced, with style, influenced). Give me a few days, just enough time to take my Geography exam, and I will present something to you. Goodnight.

Here, I have the album in question, my girlfriend left it to me an hour ago while we were having a bloody argument. Now I'm at home, but what mindset should I have to listen to it? The first arpeggios and some riffs have started... ah, the voice, nothing special, that's true, but this "monochord" scream (and even the clean vocals) perhaps excites me precisely because it's more elementary, more dramatic (tonight everything is dramatic, actually). Fede, you mention Amorphis but I also hear a lot of To/Die/For (the good ones, to be clear), and a bit of Evereve. For now, I really like it; if tomorrow, with a clear mind, I change my mind, I'll let you know. Meanwhile, tonight I have an emotional and not convoluted listening experience, "if the heart could think, it would stop" (cit. Fernando Pessoa).

Anonimo Mosconi Remix

Why dedicate a review to him? A review of what, and for what purpose?! To satisfy the itches of those who enjoy watching an old man degrade himself like that?! How pitiful... Poor Mosconi does not offend God but himself. And what a pain...
Shadow Gallery Digital Ghosts

The Shadow Gallery are stunning; I have their old albums and they are a concrete example of intelligent prog metal (did I happen to mention that the driam fiater are hysterical queens? No? Okay, I’ll say it!!). I didn’t know about Baker’s death; I’m really sorry to hear that. With their sensitivity, I wonder what a beautiful album this "Digital Ghost" will be… thank you, Yosef, for the heads-up. Deadhouse
