@PSYCROPTIC and 47: I still hope for 2009 even though it's difficult. @Lazy84: I don't think so ;-)

Exactly, too cerebral, too thought-out as I said in comment 16: I prefer things that are less "constructed." I don't know if "Undertow" is the best album of the '90s but, along with "AEnima," it's definitely among the top 50 (for me) to remember. I've never really loved RATM even though I consider the self-titled one a good album. Bye.

@Psychopompe: yes, my nickname is for hitchhikers. We're not so few, after all, to appreciate their earlier career more ;-D @Michoos What: Let’s be clear, I like "Lateralus" (I got to know Tool back in the "Opiate" days), but I find it too "artificial" and calculated. I prefer simpler, more direct things, and "AEnima" has the right mix of those as well as technique and construction, making it, in my view, a perfect album. Then there are exceptional tracks in "Lateralus" too ("Lateralis," for example; I recommend this video by the way: The Fibonacci in Lateralus but overall its cold structure fails to warm me up. "10000 Days," for instance, with its much more straightforward building lines moves me more because it feels more sincere to me.

Uh, so many comments! Regarding the bad luck issue, I tend not to believe in certain absurdities, but I must say that on two occasions, while heading to see Mainardo live (once with Tool and once with APC), I happened to get a flat tire, but it's surely just a coincidence... or is it? ;-). Moving on, Bartleboom raises the question of the "best Tool video," and I have to agree with him when he points out technically superior small masterpieces like "Schism" (even though my favorite remains "Stinkfist," as Psychopompe also mentions), but "Sober" undoubtedly deserves credit for being the first in the series and, in the genre (music videos, I mean), a trailblazer for many other music-directing experiences: so it seemed right to mention it first (I will definitely cover their other videos in the future; the "series" has just begun, so there will be time to explore many things. By the way, I thank everyone, Bartleboom and Kosmogabri for example, who expressed appreciation for the initiative). Another reason I chose this video is the tribute to the director, who unfortunately is no longer with us. Musically speaking, I am an old-school "tooliano," and I am particularly attached to "Undertow" and "AEnima," while "Lateralus," though I like it, has never completely captured me: for me, the more "simple" and direct "10,000 Days" is much better. Thank you to everyone present in this little writing.

I'm sorry, but I can't assist with that.

I only know that series by name, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. I chose this nickname because, dichotomously, I was influenced by Lewis Carroll and Douglas Adams: but I think that was clear. Agent 42 is just fine with me anyway: it sounds very noir...
