a most courageous record, starting from the title (damn, do we realize that World War II had ended less than 30 years ago and they call their first album, and I emphasize, the first, arbeit macht frei??) right down to the tracks, which are fantastic.

this album is a pain in the ass. I love Jaco, and the tracks are as always fantastic, but it’s a compilation full of fillers. It’s missing a track (I think it’s crisis) and it includes all of "word of mouth", there’s no come on come over, just one track from the weather report...ugh. Not bad for getting to know Jaco, but it adds little to his myth.
