Joe Walsh But Seriously, Folks!

Nice review. I know little about him as a solo artist, maybe 5-6 songs, nothing more... but I remember that life's been good was nice.

That it’s over is undeniable... but has it ever begun? That is the dilemma...
Catherine Hardwicke Twilight

The book isn't exactly terrible: let me explain. The idea is nice (good vampires living peacefully with humans, etc.) even though Meyer opted to achieve worldwide success by stuffing the story with so much melodrama that it makes you faint. I mean, every two pages there are sentences like "how can you even think that I could leave you? You're all that matters to me," or similar stuff. The movie, on the other hand, is made horribly, flat, it never takes off, and by the time you reach the end, you hardly even notice. Not because it's good and smooth, but rather because it's so flat and pointless that it truly leaves you indifferent.

I liked the film; it was well acted and well directed... also because it couldn't have been any other way, given the names involved!
Italo Calvino Se Una Notte D'Inverno Un Viaggiatore

Well, I have to say that The Baron in the Trees is the least successful episode of the trilogy... if I'm in the mood, I'll write a review on it too! I also love Calvino, maybe that was clear...

Louis Armstrong The Silver Collection

Point 1, as I specified in the review, the collection is not the Verve one whose cover they used; it's one of those crappy compilations made by who knows who, so the tracklist doesn't match that of the album on the cover; in fact, it's completely different. Let's say that mine was just one excuse like any other to talk about Louis.
2 I'm not sure if there are any actual albums made by him, but considering the historical period he belongs to, I doubt it... those were the days of singles, so it's logical that there are mainly compilations...
Italo Svevo La Coscienza Di Zeno

Interesting, I hadn't thought of that! The "Svevo" hypothesis is my own speculation; I don't know if any critics have seen it the same way I do. But indeed, the Freudian hypothesis holds up quite well!
