Bartleboom: as S4DOLL rightly says, the difference regarding hardware is minimal; among other things, Macs in recent years have been equipped with Intel processors (the old PowerPC ones are no longer used). The MAC OS X system is also closed source, proprietary code, so it is more or less on the same level as Windows, obviously performing better since it is based on a Unix kernel! The wise and right choice is to buy any PC (which costs quite a bit less than a Mac), format the hard drive to eliminate that awful beast called Winzozz, and install any Linux distribution, from the simplest (Ubuntu) to the most serious (Gentoo, Slackware, Arch Linux)! And then go ahead and customize your system... something that is not possible with either Mac or Windows. :D :D

Punisher, sorry but I don't see the differences at the level of companies, they are both two tech empires that monopolize the market, where are the differences!? The fact that the operating systems derived from the two companies are at opposite ends in terms of computing philosophy and usability is another story... I would be an idiot to claim that Windows (any version) is worth Mac OS X (and I believe it, the Mac is based on the Unix kernel :D)!! I gladly skip the book since the review reveals a personality, that of Steve Jobs, arrogant and presumptuous (definitely the face of humility... :D)!!
