And yes Odra, the faces in the internal photo are really no chìul. And the Martha too... in some videos they look cute, but that photo disproves everything :) Just to talk about deep things. In my opinion, we can consider the Young Marble Giants as little cousins of the Martha, as they reach very different outcomes with the same premises... especially the voices and some melodies that resemble each other quite a bit, even though the Young are more sophisticated, much more sophisticated. The Martha have that something because they are spontaneous and, as you say, it's not for everyone, especially in those expressionist years. Ah, a few years ago (I think 2007) a nice edition of Colossal Youth came out (always from 1980... my fixation is 1980) which includes, in addition to the record, a couple of 7", some tracks from compilations, and a few b-sides. Well, now, this collection is on sale, you can take it home for ten euros... nice thing.
