by now, you just need to add a touch of basic rhythm and a horrible synth on top, and you're kraut. throw in some noise and you're the heir of My Bloody Valentine. come on, the press releases are for lazy journalists; let's forget what they say; anyone who has listened to this album - not bad, actually quite nice - and knows what kraut is won’t find any connection at all. amen.

The SDRE type being considered emo is a blasphemy, not to mention a bullshit. They were signed to Sub Pop, a real label, with distribution, etc... and they were incredibly influential, playing on TV shows, etc. What should Portraits of Past, Indian Summer, Braid, Funeral Dinner, Cap'n Jazz, Car vs Driver, Heroin, Swing Kids and millions more say... all bands that with just one song can make Corgan’s hair grow back for eternity. When it comes to emo, you have to dig deeper. What’s on the surface is hardly emo.

But just think about the covers of emo bands – the only bands that made sense in the '90s, not like those stupid pumpkins and pearl jam shit... like The Dismemberment Plan, Get Up Kids and the whole crew playing The Cure, Smiths and all the rest of the gang. Emo was invented by The Smiths.

In my opinion, they have nothing to do with The Fall (but are we talking about Mr. Smith, those Fall?)... they have much more in common with The Smiths, with that comedy, striped sweaters, cakes, we love but we don’t fuck. at least from a purely metacommunicative level. Anyway, recommending a Beat Happening record by saying "it's the least amateurish" is a load of crap; Beat Happening only makes sense as long as they remain amateurish... it’s amateur music, amateur feelings, amateur people. Better the very first things. Like the first 7”, which they recorded not knowing how and had to call Greg Sage to help them out. If you don't like it, oh well, not everything has to be liked by everyone :)

God, incinerate him: not for us, but for yourself. Don't be ashamed, incinerate him. Come on.

Ah, so you can still talk about decent music on Debaser, amidst a review on Tardelli's scream and idiots still struggling with DeLorenzo/IlPaolo/VellutoGrigio, all wrapped up in comments that seem like quotes from Baci Perugina. Nice reviews, the album is kind of a yes and kind of a no.

Okay, it’s a law of nature: everyone gets the females they deserve, you’re a loser, 2 + 2 = 4 with losers. Amen. And by the way, when it comes to musical tastes, you’re no better.
