Ayreon Actual Fantasy

Thank you guys. I want to start by saying that I like both albums you've mentioned. But despite (to put it in the words of the legendary creative) "Actual Fantasy" being criticized by metal fans for being too little metal and by prog fans for being too little prog, I like it more than the other albums precisely because it's a perfect blend of the two souls of the musician. A middle ground. Plus, there are many tracks of absolute value ("Abbey of Synn," "Computer Eyes," "Back to Planet Earth," and "Forevermore").

Well, I didn’t want to hide what I think about punk either. But I wouldn’t have left a comment if I felt the review was balanced. Also, the "I don’t agree" referred to the discussion in general and not to your specific sentence. In this case, I could challenge "more important" with "important." However, I must say that the Ramones are the band I appreciate the most in this genre. :D

Alfredo, please, you're a bit obsessed! First of all, I didn't say they aren't important. Maybe you dreamed it. Although I don't appreciate punk, I respect those who make it and those who listen to it. I simply commented that there's a difference between saying they are among the most important punk bands and saying they are "one of the greatest rock bands of all time." The first is a balanced statement, the second is an exaggeration.

If it's that dark, let me explain it to you. Because all of us have criticized Scaruffi for the lack of objectivity in his ideas or reviews, and then we fall back into the same mistakes.

I don't agree with you, but for heaven's sake, I respect your opinion. Music is beautiful for this reason, because everything is debatable. But I reiterate, that phrase gave me a sense of exaggeration. Don't criticize Scaruffi then...

It's not a matter of derivation; the issue is that rock is a much broader container, and the Ramones are certainly not among the best ever in this vast pool. However, in the punk subgenre, they are definitely among the best. Did I clarify my point?

I don't doubt your passion, and I don't want to contest your musical tastes, but you went a bit overboard with that "one of the greatest rock bands of all time." You deserve a 1 just for that; if you had written "one of the greatest punk bands of all time," there would definitely have been one.

Good job. I don't have this album, but I have "Hex," which is very nice. They are a very interesting band. And despite the seventies influences, they have their own originality.

Wow, I wanted to review this one! Anyway, well done, great choice. You were a bit low with the rating, though.

Good review and interesting mention. I've never heard of them, but you've intrigued me.
