because the only people who lived through the resistance and spoke about the atrocities committed by the partisans were the grandparents of my friends, grandparents who at the time were part of the fascist party. I have no difficulty believing that the resistance also committed its own atrocities; rather, I find it somewhat difficult to believe that any of them admitted it.
Anyway, your uncle says that SOME, not THEY, did this and that... that makes it more believable.

P.S. Just to avoid misunderstanding: back then, I would definitely have been with the resistance...
