I skimmed through quickly and just finished working, so I might be wrong. :) Working is tiring.

Of course, if someone goes from the Velvet Underground to Paramore, it's not that they have "open-mindedness" (a stupid term), it's that they need to take a moment to reorganize their ideas. You can't do something without laying the foundations, right? Anyway, with every band of this kind, the usual argument erupts. Why do the nice gentlemen who like these guys have to try to justify their musical "dignity" in some way? Do you like them? Good, it's a matter of taste. But these guys make plastic music. And this isn't a matter of taste; it's an empirical fact. Do you enjoy plastic music? Good, it's a matter of taste. Either you criticize others' tastes, or on the other hand, you throw it back at the intentions ("you don't like it because you’re trying to be 'alternative'"). Pff.
